Trusting in God Even When Things
Go Wrong by VMT Singuillo
Trust and faith may perhaps seem
synonymous. However, can it be easy to trust God, whom we can't see, especially
in times of distress and trouble?
I clearly remember a story of a man who was in a hurry to go to the airport to
catch his flight for a business trip. Going to the airport had been a long one
due to bumper-to-bumper traffic. To this man's dismay, he missed his flight and
he was so furious and mad. He simply could do nothing but try to book for the
next available flight.
While waiting at the ticketing lounge, a news flash was featured on the
television screen - an airplane crashed with almost no survivors. It was the
flight that this man just missed! The man could not believe the news and he
simply was shocked and silent! Yes, all he could do now was shed a tear that his
life was simply spared. Had he made that previous flight, he would have been
dead by now.
As I think about this, many of us are easily angered when things go wrong. But
if you believe in God, you know He has something that He knows is best for you.
Later if we come to realize that the "wrong" incident was indeed a blessing to
us, all we can simply do is thank God for the problems and the troubles that we
face. And to thank God for the troubles is surely not an easy thing to do.
I still do believe when the Bible says that, "All things work together for good,
to them that love God and keep His commandments". We can only see the present,
but God sees both the beginning and the end; the past and the future.
So if you believe in God, there is no reason why you can't trust Him all the
way.
